November 2025: Committees Election & Byelections Nominations!

We are currently taking nominations for the annual election of the PDF (Professional Development Funds) Committee:

  • PDF Coordinator (1 position)
  • PDF General Members (4 positions)

The regular terms of office for the PDF Committee runs from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026. Please note that bylaws relating to the PDF Committee were recently amended.

We are also taking nominations for byelections for the following committees:

  • Childcare Committee General Member (1 position)
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (3 positions)

The terms of office for these positions run from the date of the byelection (November 19) to the end of the month that the committees’ regular annual elections are held (March for the JHSC, and September for the Childcare Committee).

Information regarding each committee can be found on the committees page of our website. Per the Bylaws, members may serve on a maximum of four (4) committees per year (with the exception of the JHSC, which does not count toward the four committee limit).

Members in good standing may nominate themselves using this form and are invited to include a statement in support of their nomination(s). Statements received by 18 November 5:00 PM, Toronto Time (EDT) will be included in the GMM package. Nominations can still be submitted after this deadline, but will likely not be included in the GMM package.

Members can also nominate themselves during the GMM, and candidates for any contested positions will be given a chance to make a two-minute statement supporting their candidacy.

Voting for any contested positions will start during the November 19 General Membership Meeting and end when the meeting ends. Nominees for uncontested positions will be acclaimed. If you have any questions about committee byelections, please contact Stephen Carr, Vice-President Unit 1, at vpu1@cupe3903.org or Joseph Tohill, Vice President Unit 2, at vpu2@cupe3903.org.
