Terms of Office and Committee Information
The terms of office for these positions run from the date of the election/by-election (September 24) to the end of the month that the committees’ regular annual elections are held. Committee elections and by-elections will be held at the September General Membership Meeting (GMM).
Please consult the CUPE 3903 committees webpage for more information about the various committees. Per the bylaws, members may serve on a maximum of four (4) committees per year (with the exception of the JHSC, which does not count toward the limit).
Nominations and Elections Procedures
Members in good standing may nominate themselves using this form and are invited to include a brief (optional) statement in support of their nomination(s). Statements received by September 22, 2026 at 9 AM, Toronto time (Eastern) will be included in the GMM agenda. Nominations can still be submitted after this deadline, but will likely not be included in the GMM agenda. Members can also nominate themselves from the floor during the GMM.
If a position is contested, candidates present will be invited to make a one-minute statement at the GMM supporting their candidacy. (Nominees are strongly encouraged to attend the GMM!)
Voting for any contested positions will start during the GMM and end when the meeting ends. Nominees for uncontested positions will be acclaimed.
If you have any questions about serving on CUPE 3903 committees or about these committee by-elections, please contact Tareq K, Vice President Unit 1, at vpu1@cupe3903.org.
