At today’s CUPE 3903 General Membership Meeting (GMM), there were lots of important developments!
We would like to congratulate all members who were acclaimed via by-elections to new positions at the GMM. These uncontested candidates will be newly taking on key roles including committee positions, an Executive Committee position, and Bargaining Team positions. Thank you all for the work you do to make our union a better place! Please see the full acclamation results at the end of this post. By-elections for any positions that have remained vacant will be announced soon, on the website and via the union’s newsletter.
Today’s GMM also included a vote on a bylaw amendment to Appendix D, relating to the Extended Health Benefits (EHB) Fund. This bylaw amendment passed and will be implemented in the EHB Committee’s adjudication procedures going forward. As discussed in July, this bylaw amendment adjusts the monetary cap for the fund to $2500 and removes the potential to waive this cap, in order to help the EHB Fund continue to sustainbly serve as many members as possible within its current fiscal limitations.
