The Extended Health Benefits (EHB) Committee is providing notice of a proposed bylaw amendment to Appendix D, which will be voted on by members at the August General Membership Meeting.
This proposed bylaw amendment would adjust the monetary cap of what could be received from the EHB Fund per member, per Collective Agreement year, to $2500 (where it was previously $5000). Per the bylaws, these caps exist due to the finite nature of the fund and the desire to assist as many members as possible. This proposed bylaw amendment would also remove the potential to waive this limit in cases of extreme need, in which case the committee suggests that members could apply to the Ways and Means Hardship or Emergencies Fund (depending on which is applicable to their situation).
