Call for JHSC Nominations: December 2025

We are currently taking nominations in a by-election for the following committee

  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (3 positions)

The terms of office for these positions run from the date of the by-election (December 17) to the end of the month that the committees’ regular annual elections are held (March for the JHSC).

The Executive Committee has filled two of the three positions on a pro-tem (temporary) basis. Per the Bylaws, positions filled pro-tem must be posted for by-election at the next GMM. If neither appointment is contested in the December byelection, the two members serving pro-tem will be acclaimed.

Information regarding the JHSC can be found Joint Health and Safety Committee Representatives webpage. Per the Bylaws, members may serve on a maximum of four (4) committees per year, excluding the JHSC.

Members in good standing may nominate themselves using this form and are invited to include a statement in support of their nomination(s). Statements received by December 16 at 5:00 PM, Toronto Time (EST) will be included in the GMM package. Nominations can still be submitted after this deadline but will likely not be included in the GMM package.

Members can also nominate themselves during the GMM, and candidates for any contested positions will be given a chance to make a two-minute statement supporting their candidacy.

Voting for any contested positions will start during the December General Membership Meeting and end when the meeting ends. Nominees for uncontested positions will be acclaimed.

If you have any questions about committee byelections, please contact Stephen Carr, Vice-President Unit 1, at vpu1@cupe3903.org or Joseph Tohill, Vice President Unit 2, at vpu2@cupe3903.org
