We are currently taking nominations for the annual election of the CUPE 3903 Elections Officer (EO). The EO’s term of office runs from May 1, 2027, to April 30, 2027. The EO is responsible for running all Executive Committee and Bargaining Team elections and by-elections during this period.

We are also taking nominations for by-elections for the following committee positions that weren’t filled at the Annual General Meeting:

  • Accessibility Committee (1 position)
  • Bargaining Research and Preparation Committee (2 positions)
  • Bursaries Committee (2 positions)
  • CUPE Toronto District Council (3 positions)
  • Distribution Committee (2 positions)
  • Employment Equity Committee (1 position)
  • Extended Health Benefits Committee — Coordinator (1 position)
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Representatives (7 positions)
  • Labour-Management Committee — Unit 3 Representative (1 position)
  • Labour-Management Committee — Unit 4 Representative (3 positions)
  • Postings Officers Committee — General (1 position)
  • Postings Officers Committee — Nursing Specific (1 position)
  • Research Costs Fund (1 position)
  • Senate Representative (1 position, 1 alternate)
  • Toronto and York Region Labour Council (4 positions)

The terms of office for these positions run from the date of the by-election (April 23, 2026) to the end of the month that the committees’ regular annual elections are held (March 2027). Please check CUPE 3903 committees webpage for more info about the various committees.

Per the Bylaws, members may serve on a maximum of four (4) committees per year, with the exception of the JHSC.

Members in good standing may nominate themselves using this form and are invited to include a statement in support of their nomination(s). Statements received by April 22 at 5:00 PM, Toronto Time (EST) will be included in the April General Membership Meeting (GMM) package. Nominations can still be submitted after this deadline but will likely not be included in the GMM package.

Members can also nominate themselves during the GMM, and candidates for any contested positions will be given a chance to make a one-minute statement supporting their candidacy.

Voting for any contested positions will start during the April GMM and end when the meeting ends. Only members who have registered for the meeting will receive an election/by-elections ballot. Nominees for uncontested positions will be acclaimed.

If you have any questions about serving on CUPE 3903 committees or about these committee elections/by-elections, please contact Joseph Tohill, Vice-President Unit 2, at vpu2@cupe3903.org.
