2018 Grievance Settlement

Are you a current or former member of CUPE 3903 who filed a remediation pay discrepancy grievance against York University following the 2018 strike?

In 2023, CUPE 3903 and York University agreed to a settlement of grievances related to remediation pay discrepancies that arose from the 2018 strike. The Executive Committee has voted to divide the total sum ($45,000) between the total number of claimants (125), with claimants here defined as those who submitted a grievance and the required documentation back in 2018–19.

Each verified grievor/claimant will receive a payment of $360.

The Executive Committee is attempting to contact eligible claimants using the contact information they provided when filing their grievances. However since many of them have, since 2018–19, left York and/or moved, we need help reaching many of the claimants.

If you or someone you know filed a pay discrepancy grievance in 2018, it’s important that you (or they) complete our online contact information verification form to receive your portion of the settlement money.  Once your information has been verified and cross-referenced with the list of eligible claimants, you will receive your payment in an emailed etransfer via Plooto.
