Notice: EHB Payments Error (November 27/28), Update on 2025-2026 Fund Allocations

Apologies: 13 Extended Health Benefits (EHB) applications awaiting payment in Plooto were approved in error between November 27 and November 28, 2025. As a result, some members with approved EHB applications received notices of payment from Plooto on or between these dates. However, these fund payments cannot currently be processed because of the lack of money available in the EHB account.

This is directly because of a substantial delay in receiving our member fund allocations for the 2025-2026 academic year from the Employer. Our Secretary-Treasurer has identified the affected applications and will ensure that those same applications are reuploaded for payment when the funds become available. (No action is needed on the part of affected members.)

Relatedly, the Executive Committee and members of the Labour-Management Committee (LMC) have been actively working and communicating directly with the Employer and Faculty Relations to follow up and emphasize how these delays continue to place undue financial burdens on members who rely on these funds. We anticipate a response from the Employer on a due date for fund transfers at an upcoming LMC meeting on December 2, 2025.
