Nominate Yourself: Be on the Bargaining Team!

As preparation for the next round of bargaining heats up, there are still some spots available on the Units 1, 2, & 3 Bargaining Team (BT) if you want to get involved! Nominations for further BT by-elections will open at the April General Membership Meeting. These by-elections are for vacant BT spots following previous elections/by-elections.

The nomination period will run from Thursday, April 23 – Thursday, May 7 at 4PM.

  • Bargaining Team Recording Secretary
    • 1 vacancy
  • Bargaining Team – Unit 1
    • 1 vacancy
  • Bargaining Team – Unit 3
    • 3 vacancies

Eligibility 

The Recording Secretary postion is open to all units. The position of Unit 1 Representative on the BT is only open to members of Unit 1. For the positions of Unit 3 Representative, please see the following requirements, voted on by the membership at the February General Membership Meeting.

Special eligibility note: Members of the local running to represent Unit 3 on the BT must be active or political members of Units 1, 2, or 3, and they must have held a Unit 3 contract within the last 5 years. 

Election Timeline

  • Nomination Period: Thursday, April 23  – Thursday, May 7 at 4PM
  • Campaign Period: Thursday, May 7 – Thursday, May 21 at 4PM 
  • Voting Period: Thursday, May 21 – Tuesday, May 26 at 4PM 

Supporter Forms 

When running for a Bargaing Team position, nominees must have the support of two members of the local, specific to their unit (unless running for the position of Bargaining Team Recording Secretary). 

Upon submission of the nomination form, the supporters will be automatically contacted to endorse the nomination via a pre-populated supporter form. Both supporter forms must be submitted before the deadline in order for the nomination to be considered complete. The form will be disabled at the close of the nomination period.
