Thank You from the Campaign Against Anti-Black Racism

See the below thank you letter, sent on behalf of the Campaign Against Anti-Black Racism.

Dear Zoë and members of the CUPE 3903 Executive Committee,

On behalf of the Campaign Against Anti-Black Racism, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you, and to the entire membership of CUPE 3903, for your inspiring generosity, support, and solidarity.

The work you have done for this campaign, in support of Prof. Aimé Avolonto and Lydia Dosu, goes far beyond what any of us could have expected, and sets an example for all other trade unions and allies to follow.

We are deeply grateful for your statements of support, your attendance at hearings and campaign events, your continuous promotion of the campaign among members and in the wider movements, your incredibly generous financial contributions, and everything you do to boost our morale and help get us closer to winning justice for Aimé and Lydia.

This really demonstrates the local’s commitment to the fight against Anti-Black Racism, not just at York University, but across the post-secondary sector and in all workplaces.

Although this has been a very long and difficult fight, we are hopeful that the coming year will be one where we see more victories for the campaign, and the greater possibility of a fair and just resolution for Aimé and Lydia.

Without your steadfast support, we could not have made it this far.

Again, our deepest thanks to you and your members.

In solidarity,

Azinwi Kien Saningong
