Bargaining Team Report — June 29 – July 3, 2026

On the heels of last week’s General Membership Meeting (GMM), CUPE 3903’s Units 1, 2, & 3 Bargaining Team (BT) has been busy preparing for our first meeting with the employer on July 6, 10 AM – 12 PM. This meant finalizing proposals, formatting them for presentation to the Employer, liaising with York admin about meeting details, and brainstorming the best ways to communicate our membership’s needs and realities to the Employer. We are eager to get bargaining started!

CUPE 3903 remains steadfast in its commitment to open bargaining, as per the External Bargaining Parameters approved by membership. This means that you are invited to join us at the bargaining table in-person or online!

  • To join us in-person: Come to LSB 101 (Life Sciences Building) on Monday July 6, 10AM – 12PM
  • To join us online: follow the link here
    • You can help our moderator with verifying memberships by making sure that your account name on Zoom matches your name as it appears on our membership list!

Your presence and attentiveness provide crucial support to the BT, reminding the Employer that we are meeting with them on behalf of a much bigger and stronger group of workers that keeps York running. While non-BT members cannot speak during meetings with the Employer, you can pass notes to the BT. We look forward to seeing you!

You are also welcome to join the BT’s regular meetings, which are always welcome to CUPE3903 members (the BT’s next meeting is Wednesday, July 8, 10AM – 12PM). We’ll tie up some loose ends on the few remaining proposals (notably the update to our collective agreement’s Health and Safety language) and debrief about our first meeting.

The BT also encourages everyone to join the first Bargaining Mobilization Committee meeting on July 14, 12:30 – 2PM. The meeting’s goal is to collectively brainstorm a plan with specific steps that stewards and rank-and-file members can take to support bargaining and win strong contracts!

In solidarity,

CUPE 3903 Bargaining Team (Units 1, 2, & 3)
