As of February 21st, the Unit 5 Bargaining Team has officially started bargaining for their unit’s first ever Collective Agreement. Unit 5 of CUPE 3903 represents workers at the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness (COH). Workers at the COH voted overwhelmingly to unionize on April 5th, and we’re so excited to support them in this first round of bargaining, plus all of their future ones!
So far, the Unit 5 Bargaining Team has been clear about emphasizing the importance of transparency and collaboration in their bargaining. In their initial meeting with the Employer, they also advocated for important values in their workplace like anti-discrimination, operating in good faith, and accessibility. We’ll keep you updated as their bargaining unfolds about all the most crucial developments.
