Survey on Racial and/or Ethnic Discrimination and Harassment at York University

Click here to access a survey that was created by the Joint Advisory Committee on Race/Ethnic Relations. The mandate of this joint committee of CUPE 3903 and York University is to discuss and investigate systemic and/or individual discrimination, interference, restriction, harassment or coercion exercised or practiced with respect to any union member in her employment relationship, by reason of race, colour, nationality, ancestry, place of origin or native language. The committee works closely with the Anti-Racism Working Group and may also make recommendations to the Labour-Management Committee.

They are inviting any CUPE 3903 member who has experienced forms of harassment or discrimination based on any criteria outlined above to complete this anonymous survey. This survey will take 5-10 minutes to complete. You will find the consent form here. The purpose of this study is to understand member experiences with harassment and discrimination and to report back to CUPE 3903 membership and the Labour Management Committee.

If you are a CUPE 3903 member and need support with experiencing racial and/or ethnic discrimination and harassment in your workplace, please reach out to our Staff Representative Equity at cupe3903equity@gmail.com. For a list of some of the resources CUPE 3903 has available for BIPOC members, please click here.

For questions about the study, contact the CUPE 3903 members of the Joint Advisory Committee on Race/Ethnic Relations: Daniela Petrovski (dani358@yorku.ca) or Keisha Bell (kbkovacs@yorku.ca).
