Notice to Pro-Tem Executive Committee Positions

The Executive Committee is giving notice that it will make pro-tem (temporary or interim) appointments to the following three Executive Committee positions at its June 3rd meeting:

  • Lead Steward Unit 1
  • Lead Steward Unit 3
  • Lead Steward Unit 4

You can find descriptions of each Executive Committee position in Article 9 of our bylaws.

Following Article 14.v(b) of our bylaws, the Executive Committee will fill these positions by a simple majority vote. Members appointed pro-tem will hold their positions until by-elections in August.

The listed Executive Committee positions are unit-specific, so eligibility is limited to members in good standing of the relevant units.

For more information or to nominate yourself for a pro-tem appointment to one of the above positions, please email Zoë Newman, Chairperson, at chairperson@cupe3903.org by 12 PM (noon) on June 3rd, 2025. Nominees should include a brief candidate statement (maximum 200 words).

Should members have any accessibility concerns, please contact our Staff Representative Equity at equity@cupe3903.org.

Note: Because the bylaws stipulate that GMMs are not held in June and July during non-bargaining years, the by-elections for these positions will be timed to coincide with the August GMM. Per Article 14 (Elections), elections and by-elections comprise a two-week nomination period, a two-week campaign period (for contested positions), and a five-day voting period. (Anyone running uncontested will be declared elected when the nomination period closes.) We will share more information about by-elections as the August GMM approaches!
