Nominations Open: TFAC Co-Chairs, Trans Fund Committee, and SASSF Committee

The nominations for two (2) Executive positions of the Trans Feminist Action Caucus as well as three (3) positions on the Trans Fund Committee, and three (3) positions of the Sexual Assault Survivor Support Fund (SASSF) Committee are open and will remain open until 10 AM on March 15, 2026.

TFAC members of any unit are eligible for the Co-chair and SASSF positions. We welcome and strongly encourage involvement of BIPOC, persons with one or more disabilities, lesbian, bisexual, two-spirit, queer, and trans persons. Only self-identified trans* members are eligible for the Trans Fund positions.

All women, trans, gender queer, and gender variant members of the local are automatically members of the TFAC, whether or not you have ever attended a meeting.

Voting to elect Co-chairs and Committee members will occur at the TFAC Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday, March 16th from 1-3PM. The AGM will be hybrid so you can join on Zoom at this link or in person at the CUPE 3903 Office (143 Atkinson).

All nominations can be sent to the TFAC Elections Officer at tfacelection@gmail.com. Candidates are invited to submit a statement of up to 300 words to support their nomination, should they wish.

*We employ a broad definition of “trans”, including people who self-identify as Two-Spirit, trans, transgender, transsexual, genderqueer, non-binary, gender variant, MTF, FTM, trans woman, trans man, gender dysphoric and/or bi-gendered, de-gendered. This list is not exhaustive, nor should it imply that these groups necessarily embrace “trans” terminology.
