The Black and/or Indigenous and/or People of Colour* (BIPOC) Caucus is open to all members of CUPE 3903 who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Colour. The caucus elects a chair annually to sit on the local’s Executive Committee.
What are we working on?
The work of the BIPOC Caucus includes but is not limited to:
- Developing policy recommendations to address racism and advance equity both internally within the union and externally with the broader York University community.
- Initiating subcommittees or campaigns to address anti-racism and equity issues.
- Promote mutual support and advocacy for BIPOC members in the workplace and in union spaces
- Sending delegates to equity-based conferences, conventions, and committees.
