DESCRIPTION:Do you want to build solidarity with fellow disabled CUPE 3903 members? Come drop in to the CUPE 3903 Office (143 Atkinson) anytime between 1-4PM on Thursday\, March 5! \nThere will be tea\, snacks\, and quiet games. You’re welcome to come chat or just chill with other workers at York who share your experience. Members are working toward formalizing a Disability Caucus in our union\, and we’re hoping to foster more spaces where we can gather together in community. \nFollowing section 5D of the bylaws\, the Disability Caucus (and this event) aims to include specifically any self-identified disabled members of CUPE 3903. The CUPE 3903 Office is a wheelchair-accessible space\, and we’ll do our best to accommodate any access needs you make us aware of. \nIf you have any questions or accessibility needs to convey\, please email access3903@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:CUPE 3903 Palestine Solidarity Working Group: Palestine Open Maps Mapathon
DESCRIPTION:From one of our rank-and-file working groups:\n\n\n\nJoin the CUPE 3903 Palestine Solidarity Working Group and Palestine Open Maps for a mapathon with geography PhD student Majd al-Shihabi\, an interactive hands-on workshop where you will learn about open mapping tools and extracting data from Mandate-era maps of Palestine. No experience necessary\, just bring along your fully charged laptop (and a mouse\, if you have one).  \n\n\n\n— \n\n\n\nMajd Al-Shihabi is a technologist and urban planner\, and a PhD candidate in the geography and planning department at the University of Toronto. His research asks how cities could be built to foster human flourishing while promoting climate action at the municipal level. He is the co-founder of Palestine Open Maps\, and the MASRAD Collective. He holds a Master’s degree in urban planning from the American University of Beirut\, and a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
